This painting was an attempt to confront some of the more absurd, pernicious aspects of human life that emerge when life is not carefully examined. While all of the paintings in this series are improvisational, this one in particular was made without filtering the work through my typical aesthetic values, instead allowing uglier impulses to remain. This painting was made during a time of escalation in wars across the globe.
